I take a few pictures and shoot an occasional video for product reviews. I needed something more solid than the cheap plastic phone holder that arrived with my tripod. I also wanted something with additional cold shoe mounts for portable lighting. At just under 12 bucks, this UTEBIT holder provides a solid attachment point for my iPhone to my tripod. The holder is much “slimmer” than my old creaky plastic one, thanks to the all-metal construction, and it’s rugged enough to withstand more than a few fumbling drops. 👍 Likes: • Slim, all-metal design. • Pivot points with hex-head fasteners rather than bulky tightening knobs that get in the way. When adjusted properly, pivot points are solid, yet easy to adjust without the hex-key. • Cold shoe mounts; one on each side of the holder for lights, mic, etc. 😢 Not so much: • Nothing to see here. 🧰 Home MacGruber tip: Want more angle control? Add a mini ball-head between the mount and your tripod. It gives you way more flexibility to frame shots without having to reassemble your entire rig 😊. I hope this review helped.

I find this tripod helpful for attaching a light source to my camera that's about the same size as a phone. The tripod is versatile and can be rotated which could be helpful if I ever use it for a phone. It fits nicely in the hot shoe and has a thumb screw to keep it in place. The only reservation I have is the clip for the cell phone has metal on the edges and isn't padded the entire way like other phone tripods I have.

I'm a professional video producer, and I sometimes need to bring my iPhone 15 Pro into the mix to grab a shot or two. This handy spring-loaded phone mount makes that easy.
