Gunslinger Sabata (Lee van Cleef) is not a popular figure in the town of Daugherty. When he discovers that the town's kingpins are behind a bank heist, he becomes a marked man, unable to trust even his own friends. Sabata is soon headed for a final shoot-out from which there can be but one survivor.

Lee Van Cleef The Best of The Bad
I think this might be Lee Van Cleef's Spaghettiest Spaghetti western lol. Alot of spagetti western actors and cliches were in this movie. Death Rides a Horse, Day of Anger and The Big Gundown were unique enough to stand out better. None of that is to say it's bad, I still enjoyed it all the same. A fun little action packed western, if a little derivative.

Ehi amico... c'è Sabata, hai chiuso!
Sabata is one of the best examples of Spagetti western genre with its memorable characters and unforgettable music. The hero of the story -Sabata- is a bounty hunter with super shooting skills and questionable moral values. The supporting characters are Banjo -a killer who carries his musical instrument everywhere- and Carrincha -an alcoholic civil war veteran with an unforgettable laughter-.Despite the simplicity of the story and exaggeration in shootout scenes, the movie is very enjoyable to watch due to the existence of Lee Van Cleef who plays Sabata and Gianfranco Parolini's successful direction.I recommend it to all spagetti western admirers.

Not bad, but not Leone, or one for Simon!
I've been on a bit of a "spaghetti western" trip recently, and this was the first I watched after the definitive "Dollars" Trilogy.I mainly chose this as I'm a fan of Lee Van Cleef generally, and he does a decent job here despite some of the films shortcomings, but I have to say the rest of the acting is a bit hit and miss. The chubby side-kick character is tolerable, but the trampolining "Alley Cat" character is just plain annoying (as is the protagonist "Banjo").Lee Van Cleef's title character "Sabata" is your typical "man with no name" style lone gunman, and the story itself is one of double-crossing and betrayal relating to a foiled bank robbing. There's no real surprises in the plot but it serves well enough. The picture quality and sound aren't bad but I doubt much time was spent cleaning it up for the DVD release.Overall I'd give this 6/10 - It's quite enjoyable in it's way but should definitely be considered "B" list.

A spaghetti "must"
Watch this one cut by Gian Franco PAROLINI (Frank KRAMER) in 1969 . Not a real western as those cut by the great Sergio LEONE but a "funny thing" performed by "great ones" such as William BERGER and Lee Van CLEEF who's as good as he was in "For a few dollars more" .Enjoy the guns and the operator's work for this is the beginning of the end of the "spagnetti" era .So long .
