101S Flipside Quadcopter, Silver

This is going to be a simple review .... 1- great price for a great quad 2- battery life is supper. 3- this thing handles great. 4-the motors will not last long if you get any debri in the gears, they must move freely after and before every flight.5-this is not a nano or micro quad. It is almost the same size as the syma x5 but with bigger motors. 6- if you have never flown before this is a great begginer quad.. And out of my 20 + quads this is my new favorite. ... I bought 4 at the same time and good thing I did .... 7- this will.. Make a great gift for all to enjoy... Thank you for reading this!!!!

I have purchased two of these from the manufacturer in Jacksonville, FL. The first one (red) worked great and only had issues after I crashed it into the street. Instead of trying to piecemeal all the parts together, I purchased a second one. I assumed the second would be just as great, but I purchased a silver one instead of the Red on. The silver one had one of the LED lights slightly cut and wouldn't produce a light. Also, the support arms that hold the rotors and propellers constantly slide out of the frame. I purchased another one as a gift for my father and he had a similar experience in that his was great until the propeller hit a plant hanging from the ceiling. The support arm came out and the propeller cut the wires that run from the rotor to the control board. Binding to this is always a challenge. It usually takes me 2-3 times before it works... You can tell it has bound when the blue lights are flashing instead of solid. The price from Amazon is much better than the price from the manufacturer ($30 compared to $60 from manufacturer). In all, I love this little copter when it works. When it doesn't, it's very frustrating. At the amazon price, I'll probably buy again to have some more extra parts as the manufacturer is regularly out of stock on replacement parts. I prefer flying this outdoors as it is very difficult to get it to hover in one spot while indoors even when adjusting the trim as the trim seems to adjust as the battery power diminishes.

This is a nice looking unit, but it does not work. I followed the instructions which are printed very small and hard to read. They are not complete and there is no number for customer assistance or help. I could not get the unit to respond to the controller no matter what I tried. So I would strongly suggest that you do not order this unit.

This was my starter quadcopter I learned to fly multi-rotors with! For the ~$14-$20 price (always wait until the price comes down around this) it is fun to throw around in the air and not worry too much if something happens to it. I have bought 4+ of these, some as gifts and some for me, and recommended to many friends and family.Stable enough to fly around the house and strong enough to easily fly in light winds. Great range too, I'd guestimate upwards of 50-60 meters easy!!Most came good to go but they are inexpensive so prepare for possible problems out of the box. One kept yawing left on a hard forward acceleration only. On one other, a motor burned up before I got through the first battery. Luckily I saved parts from my others and simply swapped the whole arm/motor assembly and have been using no problem since!

I purchased one for my 13 year old grandson for a birthday present. I spent a couple of hours experimenting with the Flipside. I found it very difficult to fly indoors with no wind. The controls are not linearly progressive, that is, you have to move the controller well off center to get any change and then it makes large changes. Flying indoors was not possible for me. Flying outdoors has not been tried but if there is any wind the difficulty would be multiplied.The description says there are beginner and expert settings. There are no instructions anywhere on how to make these adjustments. I have not been able to make such adjustments. I posted a question on the site and there were no responses.I would not purchase this item.

This is a great entry level quadcopter. We have 2 of them. Each one works on a different channel so they can be flown at the same time

For what I paid for this thing, it's a fun little toy, but that's it, just a toy. It is tricky to get balanced and going, especially with any wind. Not good for young kids! We take it to a gymnasium to fly it where the environment is more controlled. We exchanged this item at first, because the controller had something inside it that rattled and the stick on the left didn't spring like the one on the right. We thought it was damaged. When we recieved the replacement, we discovered this was how it is supposed to be. Also, we were thrown off by the battery being installed upon arrival. The blades and body are really cheap, but there are some replacement blades. I'm afraid I'm going to break the thing Everytime I touch it. We've had minor damage, but lots of fun learning to fly it. Still trying to master doing flips.

Not made of good material .Lasted about three uses.
