Love this case! Fits my Alienware Mx17 R4! No Plastic Parts.
Summary: Pro: Fits my alienware laptop! Large accessory compartment! Large Pouch! without adding to much bulk. No Plastic parts. limited lifetime warrenty Con: Does not fit my Cooler Master 18" cooling stand. (too much to ask?) All in all: Love this case! I bought this case knowing and expecting the plastic clips for the straps. To solve this problem i also ordered some lock able carabiners so i an insure the use of the bag. And boy to my surprised it showed up at my door before i went to work. I ordered this the night before around 11 PM So this was a big surprise. (Thanks you 2 day shipping!). but when i saw the bag i was like drat, it came for anything else. (no carabiners :'( ) So the first thing i checked was the clips on the bag and to my surprised it was a metal D ring. so then i checked the strap and it was a metal hook with a spring latch. (Just like the plastic ones but heavy duty and metal.) This is great! i can test out the bag. Next up will my Laptop fit in this. To be honest this was my biggest concern since the laptops are huge even for a 17 in. It fit like a glove! couldn't be happier, I placed all my accessories except my headphones (game con need one for traveling) Keyboard and Cooling stand. It had plenty of room to spare. it could definitely fit my full keyboard but atlas not my cooling stand. but that's alright. I think i can deal with that. And i also don't need to take my keyboard since there is one built in my laptop xD. Once I had Everything in I decided to test it out i put the strap on and walked around a bit. It felt comfortable even though it was heavy but that is to be expected. I decided to also do a shake test from the straps to see if the hook would come off. Over my bed of course. Nope all was good. The materials themselves felt like it was made with quality. The zippers look like they can take a beating and are made from metal as well. I believe the padding to be suffice. Not bad for a bag that's under 50 bucks and had several bad reviews over plastic parts. Only thing left if to test longevity.

Works Great for an ALIENWARE M17 R4
So, I have had this for about a year and a half, still does the job of protecting my ALIENWARE M17 R4. I use it with a liner sleeve (WIWU 17.3 Inch Diamond Laptop Sleeve Case Cover), the case, in my opinion, needs a little more padding on the bottom to protect a high end laptop but the all of the other sides have adequate padding. This laptop bag says it is for 18.3 laptops, and is the perfect size for a 17" laptop such as the Alienware series (thin and wide), especially with the additional sleeve. Most bags that say they are for 17" laptops are just not wide enough for the Alienware. The addition of the sleeve provides additional padding and protection, including edge protection, to keep the other things in the laptop bag (wireless keyboard and mouse, charge adapters, etc.) from putting any pressure points on the laptop body and screen. The laptop bag seems reasonably well made, the zipper does not open all the way, so it keeps the laptop contained, like in an envelope, and there is no way for the laptop to slip out through the side, so no worries about dropping the laptop if you pick the bag up by one strap. The material is a heavy duty nylon fabric, has been very durable and has endured travel and to and from work everyday. The straps are very good, heavy duty and they seem to extend all the way down to the bottom and stitched into the bottom seam The Zippers seem pretty good and have never given me any problems, not super fine. There are no fraying threads or extensive wear on the case or case fabric, it's held up very well. I carry an Alienware M17 R4 laptop with a full size wireless Logitech K800 Keyboard, wireless mouse, Dell 240W power supply, stack of business cards, various cables (HDMI, Cat5) and charge cords (usb, usbc, mini usb) and adapters. The 350W power supply that comes with the laptop is a little bulky and heavy for me to carry, but would fit comfortably in the bag, though you might need to forgo some of the cables to reduce some bulk (note the M17R4 will run and charge with the 240W, but will charge much more slowly, the laptop also lets you know it is not the right adapter, but it does work).

Do not let its slim looks deceive you, this bag can hold a LOT
This bag can hold a LOT. It fits Acer Predator 17.3" laptop (PH517) which is roughly the same size as Alianware 17" R4. This bag has an acceptable amount of padding on all sides including the bottom. What I love about Everki is their quality. I have been using one of their backpacks going on 5 years now, my laptop still looks like new and has always been protected. I travel for a living and have lugged that thing around the globe (literally). Since I carry this while working, I needed a messenger type bag that looked more professional than a backpack. This bag fits the bill. The only thing going in the main compartment is the laptop. The expanding front pocket I have fit 1 cased iPad, 1 small flash light, wallet, and a bulky set of headsets (david clark one-x), bulky sunglass case, and other small items. The laptop stays well protected in its center compartment alone while all your regular use items fit in the front pocket which allows enough room for bulk. There seems to be enough clearance between the laptop and the top zippers as well. The double zippers, and material all seem like excellent quality. I tried 2 other cheaper cases on amazon and they were total junk (Ytonet and Volher). Plus, I had to add padding on the bottom of the other cases. They were also too wide to drag down airline isles while on the top of the suitcase. Another awesome thing about this bag is the suitcase handle strap. It is made just the right width so it stays stable on the suitcase handle, unlike the other ones that too wide, thus fit too loosely on the suitcase. This one is just right.

Great laptop bag for those with big laptops
I purchased the 18.4 inch version so I could lug around my Asus G73SW laptop which is 17.3 inches. It could probably fit any 17 inch laptop, as the Asus G73 seems to be the biggest of its kind. This bag is pretty sturdy and fits all the items I need. I fit my laptop and my folders and papers in the main compartment, and for the small compartment I fit my charger, mouse, post its, keys, pens and pencils, and thermos bottle. There was still some room in both compartments. I don't use the velcro compartment in the front but it's pretty roomy. The inside material feels nice and soft, although it'd be nice if the material was furred like their other products. The only thing that I didn't like was that if it wasn't completely packed, it would bend a bit. I don't know if that applies to all messenger style bags, as this is my first one, but it was quite annoying to me. Other then that I love this bag. Be aware that carrying your 17 inch laptop along with the charger and some other items will make the bag heavy. You do get used to it after a while. I purchased this through Amazon.

Perfect for the Acer Aspire Ethos 8951G-9600
I can't begin to tell you how many hours I spent looking for a bag that would hold at laptop this large. I could not find any backpack that I trruly felt was a guaranteed fit. Let's face it, laptops with 18.4+ screens really are desk-top replacement computers (DTRs). My machine really won't be hauled around very much simply because it is so large, I have a 15" laptop for trips, but I did still need a carry case. The Everki Advance is nothing fancy to look at. Rather plain in fact, but you really don't want to advertise that you are carrying an expensive computer in what could easily pass as a canvas briefcase. The laptop compartment is top loading. The case does NOT open up clam shell style. The opening is sufficiently wide enough that it is easy to access. Unless you laptop is grossly thick, there is also room in that compartment for papers or folders but there is not a separator such as a nylon barrier that would keep any additional items from rubbing against your laptop. The zipper is high quality with adequately sized metal sliders with built in locking loop. This compartment is sufficienty padded, but I wish computer bag makers would put double padding across the bottom and the near bottom sides of bags. Come on, that's where the impact will most likely happen. I will probably find some dense foam and create my own extra layer of bottom cushion. One side of the case has a zip open storage compartment that has five pockets for organizing small items as well as two pen slots. This compartment could be used for USB drives, external storage devices, power brick, etc. It opens up very wide, not access problems at all. Then on the front side of the storage compartment there is a scoop slot pouch with a partial velcro closure that would be used for rapid access items. Perhaps a cell phone, car keys, passport, plane ticket, etc. The opening alone for this pocket is 9-1/2 inches wide, but the usable interior dimensions of this slot pocket are 12 inches deep and 15 inches wide. Everki did not waste space with this Advance Laptop Bag. The interior and compartments are lined with an orangish nylon. It's not neon orange, but rather a brick-orange. I don't find this annoying, rather in dim lighting the orange coloring helps me find thinks that otherwise might be difficult - like trying to find a small black USB drive in the bottom of an all black lined compartment. The carry handles are a soft point. While they are strongly attached, the bridge of the handles are too soft and flexible. A more rigid design would actually be more comfortable to hand carry. But when fully loaded, few people I would think will actually hand carry a heavy 18.+ laptop and all their gear. Thus the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap anchor points on the bag itself are strongly anchored, in fact rivited, and the fixtures are solid metal - NOT plastic. Thank you Everki for the metal parts. The shoulder strap clips and hardware are also solid metal with a great feel and they don't appear as if they would accidentally be unclipped when attached. Not difficult to operate, but certainly secure. The strap is wide enough to match the bag and be able to carry the load and across the shoulder area itself is a curved ergonomic shoulder pad, another nice touch. I loaded up the bag and walked around for half an hour and yes it was heavy, but not uncomfortable. Lastly, on the back side of the bag, opposite the accessory compartments, Everki has cleverly installed a sturdy 1-1/2 strip of straping with a 10 inch gap centered. That gap is for sliding the handle of wheeled luggage through. When not is use, the gap strap is held down with a 2 inch piece of velcro. Nice touch! Fits perfect on top of my American Tourister rolling carryon. Overall, I am glad I found this bag. I set high standards and I like to project a quality image about myself, and this bag does nothing to reduce my image even as it really is pretty much simple and utilitarian. If you're in the 18.+ screen laptop arena, you're choices of bags are currently limited. I can recommend this one with no reservations. 5-Stars, October 2011

Fits Asus ROG Scar 18 Perfectly
i had to return quite a few laptop bags whose dimensions were NOT accurate and would not fit my Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 when the dimensions said they would. this everki bag is not only accurate, but it fits the laptop perfectly and is VERY nice to boot. there's an outer pocket that closes with velcro that's perfect for the charger, a smaller zippered pouch with plenty of pockets for cables, mouse, mousepad etc., and of course a REALLY well padded main compartment to protect and store my baby. it's an incredibly thin laptop bag yet it has a ton of padding. they hit it out of the park with this bag. perfect

Really nice, slim laptop bag that fits an Alienware 17 R4
This laptop perfectly fits my Alienware 17 R4. Regular 17" bags will not fit this laptop due to a large edge that is on the back. It necessitates an 18" computer bag. It's a pretty simple bag, but I have enough room for my laptop, my trackball mouse, my charging cable, and a surge protector I occasionally need. Of course, if you have a laptop that needs an 18" bag, I'm going to bet it's pretty heavy, so each item you add in will just make it heavier of course. The strap on this is nice and sturdy. I like how thin the bag is too. When walking through busy places, for example, several times in recent months that I ended up having to lug this laptop to the hospital, I was able to keep it nice and securely close to me without feeling like the strap might break or anything of that nature. If you frequently travel alone, and bring along a small rolling suitcase, I would not recommend using the attachment velcro to hold your laptop to the suitcase handle. I tried this once, just for the sake of seeing how well it worked, and the weight of my laptop basically pulled the velcro apart and it knocked over my suitcase. No damage was done, but just be mindful of that if you have light luggage in a small bag. Not the best combo. It is a nice feature, nonetheless, and I can't fault the bag itself for that.

PERFECT for Asus g74s
I searched every physical store within 20 miles of me, and couldnt find a single laptop bag that would fit my massive laptop (asus g74s - 17.3" screen and an additional 2/3 inches with the cooler in rear, as well extra thick). I purchased this as a gamble, and WOW... Very fast shipping. Very nicely made. The shoulder belt clips on the sides are actually made out of metal, not plastic like the 5 or 6 junk laptop bags ive owned over the years. Every plastic clip had broken on my other bags. Plenty of space for my massive laptop and power supply as well as a few smaller electronics... Android tablet, cell phone, mp3 player, pens, notebook, etc. Shoulder strap is pretty good, spreads the weight nicely. even with all the extra weight I carry. The pouch on the front is pretty decent. I can see this being usefull for travelling. It has a strap thing on the rear to secure it to your luggage. Would have liked a water resistant covering for above the zipper on top. It rains a lot here, so carrying it between my car and work/home would call for it. All things being said, still gets a 5 star rating.
