Dualit 2-Slice Toaster, Canary Yellow

Very well made looks pretty too. Just remember to check the box to have it put into an unmarked shipping box. I didnt and it came only in its original toaster box showing what it was. Thats the only issue I have, and THAT was my fault for not checking the box. Lovely toaster.

I purchased this toaster at the end of December. I only used it lightly for a few months, when it broke. The lever will not go back into the down position. I have to stand and hold down the knob in order to get a piece of toast done. The slots do not allow for bagel sized or large slices of bread. I am just so disappointed in this, but mostly when I wrote to Dualit, they did not make an attempt to have this fixed for me, and now the return time is expired. Don't buy this product. I had my cheap toasters for years, never a problem. Big mistake. Price does not equal quality.

This was a replacement for an older Dualit. The new version works just as well as the old, with the benefit of slightly larger slots and a better timer. Works just as advertised, and I feel its build quality and looks justify the price.

I was looking for a toaster that would last me the rest of my life. For the money I expected better toasting. This seemingly simple device toasts unevenly with one side getting toasted more than the other. I've had it for a while now and I find I have to cut large slices in half (or it doesn't fit) and then flip them over halfway through toasting. I dig the little up/down lever that allows for you to check any time during the toasting. I'm hoping that this product will delight me when it comes to having to replace the heating units -- I'm not sure but I thought you could order and replace them yourself. The best toaster we've ever owned was a Cuisinart. My mom has one too.

awesome little toaster. The canary yellow is a beautiful color. Obviously on the expensive side, but for those of us who love our toast done just right in the morning, well worth it.

I must have struggled for two weeks before I bought the Dualit....going to stores and asking questions, looking at and holding this toaster, checking online reviews and Youtube clips wondering if it made any sense to squander this kind of money on a toaster... finally I knew that I would not rest until I bought one.Well, it is worth every penny... I cannot describe the difference, and YES there is a difference. It toasts the outside of the slice to a crispy, crunchy brown yet the inside is still soft and warm and feels like it just came out of the oven. I have found a bagel place that sells bagels that are not the jumbo size so I do use it for bagels with no problem.It sure classes up my kitchen too!!I still think it is ridiculously priced however now I understand why this product has a cult following!!!! No regrets and I'd probably do it again.

Makes toast worthy of food magazine covers. This is an heirloom toaster, should outlast everyone.

I love the appearance, however does not fit normal toast (sourdough or whole wheat)

The toaster does make decent toast, but you don't pay this kind of money for a toaster just for the toast, you buy it for its style and looks. The retro styling goes very well with the similar styling of Kitchenaid's artisan series mixer and matching blender and other counter appliances. The canary yellow of this toaster is also a very close match to Kitchenaid's majestic yellow. Toast quality is decent, with fairly consistent browning, and the resulting toast is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It also does a good job with denser, homemade breads than our old toaster. But it IS overpriced for something that just makes toast.
