Easy to install and relialble
I found this super easy to use. Thanks to a prior reviewer, I also purchased the anti-hammer gizmo so pipes would not thump when it shuts off. I just had to screw this device onto the outside spigot, then screw the programmable hose faucet to that and this was attached to hose and sprinkler. My garden now is watered for 12 minutes twice a day - at 6 a.m. and again at 6 p.m., and if it rains, I press the rain delay (it would be nice if it could sense rain and automatically do, but not a big deal). Garden looks great as it is getting consistent watering and I don't go off and forget to turn it off as I sometimes used to do.I liked it so well that I bought two more sets for my two daughters who saw mine and wanted their own.

Love this dumb thing
Love this dumb thing. Bought a house, house was empty but had beautiful hanging baskets on the porch. As we were signing closing paperwork, the days between signing and closing the seller removed his water timer but not the watering tubing and the hanging baskets nearly died. I bought as a replacement and it has basically nursed the hanging baskets back to life. Easy to program, easy to use. A little hard to tell if it's working right...but you will quickly get the hang of this. It's basic enough I have set it and then tossed out the instructions. The typing on the grey dial is easy to read in person....some people might need readers, but more people can read it easily.

Works great
These work great to set a sprinkler to go off at a specific time and shut off in the specified minutes. This summer I used two to turn on sprinklers at 5 am to give the lawn a good early morning watering for 60 to 90 minutes (you can set it for shorter or longer). The only problem is that if you want to use them for just a timer you have to set the start time. Not a huge deal but it would have been nice to just have that option. You can press a button to run it for ten minutes as you test how the sprinkler is going to work.

Convenient
This programmable hose faucet is very practical, simple programming. I bought one several years ago an still works great, no leaks and the batteries last very long. I had a problem with the first, it kept resetting randomly, I found out that the contacts in the battery compartment tend to get loose as a result of the heat from the sun if you place it on exteriors, fixed by pulling them with small pliers. Other than that, it works great. It can get wet from sprinkler and rain without any problems. You can install it and forget about it for a long time.

A decent contendor with some caveats...
So I purhased this for a bit of an odd job - to flush a line from my storange tanks every so often so water doesnt become stagnant. Sounds simple right? The device is easy to set up, just scroll through each turn of the dial and pop in your specs. What at first is great because of the simplicity, is actual the downfall of this product. Advanced capability is totally lacking. So If I wanted my garden lines watered for 15 minutes six times a day during the day, not possible without them running equal intervals throughout the night. The seal can easily be under/overtightened as well. In the end, I'm basically suggesting spending ten dollars more for a unit with more granular scheduling if you need it.

Not bad when works as advertised, but you're gambling if you leave timer unattended.
Originally liked this product enough that I bought a second one about a year after the first, but now both of them (on different spigots) have started doing this weird thing where the "Manual" timer randomly decides to count down, reset at the end of the selected time interval, and never shut off. One day I hit the manual button before going inside to finish up a work project, and what was suppose to be a 10 minute splash and dash for my front lawn turned into a 6 HOUR drenching for both the grass and my water bill. My wife had a similar issue with the unit in our back yard where she noticed the "10 min" timer was still running about 2 hours later. I'm still giving this product 2 stars because the daily timers work as expected (go on and off as programmed)....so far....but this product only gets 2 stars because 1) two units ordered more than a year apart have demonstrated the same fault, and 2) the whole point of these timers is for someone to set them and forget them, but now I only run them when I'm home because I don't trust them to shut off, so I mind as well turn the sprinklers on and off myself.

Awesome
Awesome timers, I have 9 of them in use and can't say enough positives things about them.Programming the timer is very intuitive, once you set it up you will not have to refer to the manual to reprogram at a later date, very logical. My neighbor has had 10 timers in use for two years and continue to work flawlessly.Wish everything I bought was as easy to set up as the Orbit Timer.Batter life is long and depends on the amount of cycles the timer has done, AA battery replacement if easy.
