For those that hate to floss
Overall it works ok - more "convenient" than floss, but not quite as good as getting loose some larger particles that are lodged in. I tried using this Airfloss then a regular floss right after to see how good a job it did - there were still some debris that the old fashioned floss was able to remove that the Airfloss left behind.I wouldn't say its any faster as sometimes I need to redo some gaps, and the prep time of filling the chamber and cleaning makes this a questionable improvement on time.TIPS:Don't forget to turn off the power when done - I've left it on several times and began to clean it and gotten squirted by accidentally pushing the trigger button.Use a mouthwash instead of just water - I use a Listerine 6-benefits one that leaves my mouth very nice and clean afterwards, and fight plaque, hardens enamel, etc.CONS:Chamber for the liquid - (I use mouthwash, but you can just use water) - is too small - unless you fill it to overflow, it's really difficult to gauge when it's full and it's important to fill it to the max if you plan on having enough "squirts" to do all your gaps more than once. I find that some gaps require a couple of squirts.Angle: The head needs to rest at the gum line between the teeth - pointing right into the gap. Unless you have perfectly aligned teeth, it's bit tricky. Sometimes I can feel the jet hit my tongue and it stings slightly - that's how powerful the squirt is.If you open your mouth while squirting, it can spray your mirror and face - keep your mouth close - though this doesn't prevent liquid from dribbling out onto your chin.PROS:Powerful jet can sting your tongue if you miss. Should be able to dislodge most food particles between teeth if properly aligned to the gap.Can use mouthwash or other oral irrigation liquids.Rechargeable battery can last more than a week.Recharge using the same charger as the SonicCare charger (the newer 2nd generation one) - requiring only one charger on your bathroom counter. No parts to replace or consume

Better Report from Hygienist
Every time I go to the dentist, I get scolded for not flossing. I get a cleaning every 3 months because of gingivitis and it is always painful. I don't know why I don't floss, I just don't but always say I will. At my last visit, my hygienist recommended the Sonicare Airflosser. I read the reviews at Amazon and almost didn't buy it. So many reviews were bad--mostly claiming that the pressure is too low and flossing or the Waterpick are better. But because I trust my hygienist, I took the leap.First of all, the pressure is definitely NOT too low. The first week or two it made my gums bleed. If I miss my teeth and hit my tongue, it is painful. If the pressure was higher, I would not use it. Now that my gums are better conditioned, the pressure doesn't feel as high, but I know it is.Yes, flossing is better. But that is not the point. If I don't floss, then it doesn't matter. The Sonicare is more fun and I actually use it.Today I had my first cleaning since buying it. The hygienist was amazed (before I told her I was doing anything different). There was hardly any tarter between my teeth and my gums look a lot better. The cleaning was much quicker and much less painful than before. So there is the proof for me...the cost is negligible for the benefits.Update: Well it's been around a year and a half of consistently good cleanings. Unfortunately, it died last night. I guess $100 every year or so is still cheap to save my gums, but then again I wasn't planning on this being a subscription plan. I suppose will have to deduct a star (to 4) for durability.

Perfect solution for non-flossers
I suffer from the kind of terminal laziness that most of us non-flossers have, and this product has been a wonderful solution. I use water rather than mouthwash, preferring to swish some mouthwash around following flossing, and I have noticed a significant change in my overall oral sensitivity and the infrequent bleeding I used to experience when flossing has gone away completely. Although it is a little messy at first, at the worst it resulted in drops on the counter and mirror, and I have since learned to use it with very minimal splash back. The reservoir holds more than enough water for my entire mouth and I have had zero issues with the function of the product after daily use for several weeks. Many people complain about how this is not as good as using string floss, and I would agree that if you have a particle of food stuck between your teeth above the gum line, using regular floss to remove it might be a better solution, but this product is absolutely perfect for me and has made a huge difference already, despite having only been used for a short time. I have several close-set and overlapping teeth, but have found it to work even in those instances. I think the greatest benefit for me, however, has been that the simplicity has allowed me, despite my resistance to flossing, to get into a positive routine. Sure, you might say I should have just bucked up and been responsible about flossing in the first place, and that's true, but this product has been more pleasant and significantly easier than anything else I've tried and has made me a daily flosser. I definitely recommend this to anyone with oral sensitivity, and those who do not regularly floss.
