it is very nice and durabale and i wouldn`t worry about anything it`s very good quality and cheapy made. You can fall on it through it around and it will be fine.

Does this tunnel contain PVC?

no, just some sort of flexible wire that holds the tunnel together.

If we bought two or three can we combine them to make a longer tunnel? Do the straps work that way?

I believe that they could adhere to one another but there would most likely be a gap during play. The straps are on one side of the tunnel and when you bunch it up you loop one side through and adhere it to the strap on the same side.
