A PRACTICAL LIBERTARIAN
Root was the vice-presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party in 2008. He is also known as the "Capitalist Evangelist" and this book is certainly inspirational in tone. He has a tremendous amount of information, all backed by footnotes, and seems more practical than most libertarians. The book is a bit repetitious but certainly worth reading. The book talks about the "murder" of the middle class and follows this theme with chapters like "motive" and "scene of the crime." The main point is that America is heading towards a two-class society, ending up with the rich and the poor after basically eliminating the middle class.Root believes this is a conspiracy but it would work the same way as an alliance of interests. The main parties behind this are big government and big business. The more rules, regulations, and taxes imposed on business, the more big business benefits because it can afford to pay for these while small businesses are driven out of business. Big government benefits from the increased taxes because it can then put more people on some type of welfare, who then become dependent on government, and re-elect the politicians who promise more welfare. He attended Columbia at the same time Obama did and describes the Marxist atmosphere at the school which influenced Obama. He believes Obama's ultimate goal is to establish a Marxist state. But now the Democrats first have to ally themselves with big business to destroy the middle class, especially the small business owners who value independence and are opposed to government control, and thus eliminate much of the conservative opposition. An mundane example of how big business benefits co-operating with big government to eliminate competition from small businesses is General Electric. It is one of the main beneficiaries and supporters of the government's banning of cheap incandescent bulbs as General Electric can now manufacture high-profit fluorescent bulbs instead of low-profit bulbs. Small manufacturers who cannot manufacture the new bulbs go out of business.Meanwhile, the government derives more power and money through new welfare programs, with Obamacare being the latest major example. Now more people are dependent on the government. This program allows the government to give out more subsidies and benefits to its supporters. An example he gives is that the $500 million contract for the Obamacare disastrous website was given to one of Michelle Obama's black college friends from Princeton now living in Canada while American firms could have done the job a lot cheaper. It is less than 300 years since the American Revolution and US Constitution were established to create an alternative to the United Kingdom which consisted mostly of an aristocracy and a peasantry. America became that alternative with a strong middle class based on free enterprise and individual freedom. It is obviously now going in the opposite direction with an increasingly dictatorial government, especially the federal judiciary.Root does provide one proverb that is surprisingly practical for a libertarian. He says that in politics the messenger is more important than the message. This is certainly true today with Donald Trump who seems to have the leadership talents necessary to reverse America's slide into bankrupt socialism. The idea that the candidate who checks the most conservative boxes on current issues is the best candidate has never worked.

A book on how to do the right thing in Goverment
I enjoyed the book on multiple levels as Wayne brings up a lot of points. Most of the book is about what the government can do to improve the country if they got out of their own way putting aside politics for the common good.

Murder is a Strong Word
This guy plays hardball! The author does not pull any punches about the state of America and how Obama wants to ruin it more with regulations. The biggest threat to our nation being the dreaded Obamacare. He says it's destined to destroy the middle class and saddle the entire country with bad health care. Make no mistake, the government elite wants to murder the middle class and impose a soft Communist Big Government. Root gives practical solutions for business, health care, immigration, and taxes. If only the clowns in DC would adopt his solutions, we would be on the road to a real recovery. Do yourself a favor and buy this book. If you want to help save the middle class, read this book and tell your reps how to implement these solutions. The future depends on it!Christopher PollardAuthorDon't Blame God For ReligionOutskirts Press

Root Does It Again
Wayne Allyn Root has done it again, and in spades. While I loved the Ultimate Obama Survival Guide, this is my new favorite Wayne Allyn Root book. Finally someone has articulated the plight of America and what we need to do to about this unbelievable mess. As a financial guy myself (and a staunch conservative), I have always liked Root's approach. After reading his new book I sincerely give it my highest recommendation. In fact, Wayne's clear presentation of problems and solutions has convinced me that he should be given serious consideration as a presidential candidate in 2016. Buy the book, you won't be able to put it down - it is a gem.James L. ParisEditor-In-Chief Of ChristianMoney.com And Host Of Jim Paris Live

Truly an Eye Opener on American Politics
One of the best books Iโve read in a long time. Itโs also opened my eyes to whatโs been happening in America for the past decade. You get bits and pieces from the news but Wayne gives you the background, reason why so you can see the entire picture. The scary part is know who, what, where, and why so many politicians have become socialist. I never thought I would see this type of corruption in America at such a high level. Thanks Wayne Root for opening my eyes.

Not that well written
Not that fond of books whose authors promote/endorse other causes they are financially affiliated with. Also, if I read 'THE DEATH OF THE MIDDLE CLASS" one more time in the content of a paragraph or chapter, I'm going to scream. There are probably better written books on the subject, which I do believe should be of great concern.

Great book!
Iโm very happy with the book. I didnโt expect it to be signed and am very happy about that too. I have many Signed First Editions and this is an unexpected pleasure to add to my collection. I donโt know if common, but itโs a great surprise to me. Anyway, itโs also a fantastic and depressing learning experience, all in one. Enjoy!!

This book puts together well documented and startling facts that makes one realize how a great country can be dismantled so quic
I'm sort of scared to comment against the OCF. This book puts together well documented and startling facts that makes one realize how a great country can be dismantled so quickly. It is freaking unreal to think this can happen but read this book and see how easy the OCF have accomplished the destruction of capitalism and replaced it with a two tiered socialist society. If you are already to poor and have lost hope and are accepting and depending on the OCF handouts or already rich, then you'll probably not care about what's happening as described so well in "The Murder of the Middle Class"

Some Very Valuable Insight, Highly Educational!
Wayne Allyn Root has hit another home-run with this book too. He gives some great practical advice and kicks-off with the story of how welfare has really destroyed the American Indians and that it is not a good thing. It all sounds great in theory but in the long run produces some very bad results! This is a very educational book every young and old person should read to better understand the economy and how to develop a success plan!

A wonderful read that takes the mystery out of the many ...
Enlightening and very thought provoking. A wonderful read that takes the mystery out of the many horrific happenings we witness or hear about in incremental newscasts, and informing us about the political manipulations behind the scenes. Thank you Wayne, foran excellent and timely lesson everyone has a need to absorb.
