EnviroCare Replacement Micro Filtration Vacuum Bags Made to Fit Hoover Windtunnel Upright Type Y 9 pack

These bags are great and worked perfect for my Hoover WindTunnel Vacuum (Type Y bag type). The package I received was ** EnviroCare ** . These are excellent bags that look and feel almost exactly like the Hoover bags I was previously using. The only difference is that EnviroCare bags have a seal that can be used once the bag is full to prevent the dust from leaking out during transport to the garbage. The bags themselves performed pretty much the same as the previous bags I had. However, I did notice the Envirocare bags seem just a little bit smaller than the standard Hoover bags (about 0.5 in less length when comparing them unused). While this translates to the bag filling up a little faster than your standard Hoover bag, odds are you are paying much less per bag than using the name brand. OVERALL, the Envirocare bags are exceptional and make a great Generic Alternative to the standard Hoover bags. They work as advertised and will end up saving you some money in the end, while helping to keep your house clean. **NOTE: Make sure you get Envirocare brand when you purchase. As other reviews have pointed out it seems a variety of generics are floating around amongst the venders. You want the Envirocare bags as they pretty much look and FEEL like the Hoover Bags I got with my Vacuum. Some of the cheaper generics out there will not hold up nearly as well, and are often thinner which could lead to the bag bursting.

I am not particularly find of vacuuming, but we have a large lab-shepherd whose principle talent (if you can call it that) is shedding. So, it is something I have to do a lot. This week I noticed a tile missing from our OLD (solid) wood parquet floor. I was pretty unhappy with said mutt, sure he had done it, and had more or less resigned myself to spending hundreds, if not thousands, having the floor refinished (not knowing if it was even possible to replace). My husband suggested that maybe I had vacuumed it up. I did not think that was possible, and did not look forward to going through the vaccum bag :( BUT, these bags really saved the day. I opened up the vacuum, and there it was, visible in the window! (and consequently, easy to retrieve). I immediately came back here to order more, not knowing if they would be available (since they are one flavor of generic). Well, they are, and I am ordering enough to last me a while, and hoping that these bags continue to be available! Not everyone will find themselves in that situation, but the window is intended to let you know if the bag is full. They also cost quite a bit less than the OEMs, fit and work just as well in other respects. All that said, I likely would have ordered more anyway, but for me, these really saved the day.

Unfortunately, many brand name products are a lot more expensive than the generic brands. That is why these vacuum bags are so good. Not only do they fit perfectly where the regular Hoover Y bags go, but these also have tape on them that seals the hole so dirt does not fall out of the bags. This is one instance where the generic is even more improved than the original Hoover product . Also the problem is often the generic products don't quite fit perfectly or the quality is not as good as the original. That is not true of these Envirocare bags. Perfect fit, works like they should and less expensive. You can't go wrong purchasing these.

A quality product, works as well as the original

I bought a package of these Envirocare Type Y bags and an identical package of the genuine Hoover Type Y. They are to go in a brand new Hoover upright, which only had a three-pack of Hoover bags in it. Since no one sells the genuine article in retail any more, I ordered from amazon.com, my favorite retailer online. The bags came in the same box - great for comparison. After using both, here are the differences. The Envirocare bag is the same weight of paper filter, same exact dimension, with a sturdier attachment cardboard to fit onto the vacuum's fill tube. It is, however, for reasons I cannot completely understand, harder to attach to the tube. I think the cardboard is just cut with zero tolerance and the Hoover ones are more loose. Not precisely the air-tight seal you'd want - so the Envirocare bag beats Hoover on that score. The Envirocare Y bag has deeper pleats so when it inflates it fills a larger space in the vacuum chamber than the Hoover Y. Some vacs use a type Y but still have very small chamber. If that is yours, you might prefer the Hoover at about 3 times the cost, for the sake of 'breathing' that the machine needs to do. It is after all, a device to move air through a filter. If your vacuum will hold more, and has vent holes on the front like this Hoover I have, the larger bag poses no problem whatsoever, and takes longer to fill and/or stop up. When using the larger Envirocare Y bag, stuff is immediately sucked in and down to the bottom of it. Recently had an accidental pick-up of something I did not want to lose. In the smaller Hoover bags, the dust and dog hair seem to pack in from the bottom up, and anything new is deposited on top of the pile. The large bags seem to create more even distribution of detritus inside, which, while a weird thing to care about, really saved the day when trying to find a tiny earring in that mess. Opened the bag with scissors and found the earring, neat except for some dust, at the tippy end of the vac bag. I'm going with Envirocare from now on. I see some reviewers have complained that they ordered these and got some knock-off brand. Mine are Envirocare and I won't bother paying more for genuine brand name of Hoover again.

I have been using these bags with my hoover vacuum for years and they work great. Perfect fit for the vacuum and seem to catch a lot of dust that you would otherwise miss in a canister vacuum. The only issue someone might have is the attached bag hole cover. It is a little adhesive bit of paper that can be pulled down to cover the bag opening after it is full and ready for disposal. I have never had one of the covers survive putting the bag in my vacuum. The bag holder always rips them off. I honestly don't mind as I throw the bags in the garbage can immediately. If you really like a contained bag this may be an issue for you, otherwise they work great.

Just compare prices at your local vacuum store... the bags fit well on my upright. Good quality great price.
