Good shoes for neutral running and pretty good for supinators
I've been wearing my NB 890 v1 it is one of my favorite shoes in the rotation even though they had their weakness, mostly just a fast wearing tread and the aggressive toe drop. The only thing I can say I wish was that the tread was designed a little better. Since the v1s are at the point I shouldn't run in them anymore I ordered the v2s after seeing they improved the tread.I got the shoes and they fit snugger and the toebox is just a bit snugger as well. However, I ran in them a couple times for 6 miles each time and I can say there are things that are great and some things I wish were a little different. Tirstly they are light and NB improved the treads on 890s, thank you! On the other hand, they fit like they are a half size smaller in width and the aggressive taper towards the big toe has my big toe rubbing against the shoe pretty good. After a few long runs they are starting to break in but they are snug, however I ran about 5 minutes faster immediately on my 10k runs so I can't complain. They fit a little snug, but I'm sure I'll get used to them as they don't cause any blisters, encourage a neutral gate, and by the time I've worn through the treads a bit, I'll probably get a second pair to rotate in.

Step Up for New Balance
This is a very good "neutral" running shoe once the factory insert is removed. I have high arches and use Spenco 3/4 Length Orthotic Arch Supports (mens 10-11 womens 11-12) all sizes available . The shoe is wide enough to accommodate the rather bulky Spencos and light enough to compensate for the weight of the Spencos. The wide tongue is good but the laces are too short to secure the shoe comfortably with the orthotics inserted. I replaced the stock laces with longer ones. The toe box is roomy and I have had no abnormal toe rubbing or toenail problems. A consultant for New Balance told me there are complaints about the narrow toe box of the 890v3 that will be corrected in 890v4. The ribbed sole provides good rear foot and forefoot cushioning and stability. The ribbing does collect small rocks that can wedge in the grooves for the entire run. The rear of the sole wears quickly due to my stride, so I use a light coating of shoe repair compound to prevent it. The term neutral is accurate side to side once the factory insert is removed. There is a small heel drop front to back that puts strain on the Achilles and plantar tendons. I use minor heel lifts under the arch supports to make the shoe neutral. This is one of the best New Balance models I have ever used.

Solid neutral shoe, but now made in China
I had transitioned from the NB 993 about a year ago to the NB 890V2. After a short transition period, I grew to love the 890. It was much lighter than the 993 and more stylish as well. I only run about 20 miles a week during training periods, and these shoes are perfect for my pace, gait, and running style. The 890s I bought were made in the USA, like the 993s. When it was time to replace, I bought another pair of 890V2s off Amazon. Imagine my surprise when they showed up with a made in China label. NB says "To stay competitive and afloat in today's market some key changes in certain shoes were necessary in order to provide the best pair possible to serve it's specific purpose. We do appreciate the feed back, and you can be assured I have passed along your thoughts on our Made in the USA shoes." They still make about 25% or so of their shoes in the US, just not the 890s any longer. All of that to say, I like the shoe and will likely look for another NB neutral that is made in the USA after this pair wears out.

Not made in USA or 4 stars
I originally was a HUGE new balance fan for the past 5years but i have found out they are making less than 30% of their shoes in USA now. All my old NB say MADE IN USA, maybe was the type of shoe i bought or they just make less here now. I may be biased, but these made in china shoes fit really snug versus my USA made size 11s and i nearly returned them the first day but i had to go places so i jammed my foot in there after letting the laces out some and away i went. After a few days or so they seemed to break in but still not as comfortable as my last new balance shoes, but it is a different model. I really like NB because i have back pain and i honestly won't leave the house without impact reducing running shoes on my feet. This style not as comfy as my last NB of similar price point, and lost a star for being made in china which is a whole separate issue for me. MY old NB were def 5star shoes, but I am a little disappointed, enough to look at other made in china shoes by BIG BRAND america shoe makers.

Superb running shoes!
I run a lot and have worked in the running shoe industry for many years, so when I started using these shoes a few years ago I knew I had found a winner! They are on the lightweight side as far as running shoes go but yet they offer a very well-cushioned ride.I have run in several other pairs of them, but the black ones I use to referee soccer in. I have at least 6 pair of shoes in which to officiate soccer and depending on the field condition, level of game, etc., I choose which pair to use. These NB 890's are my number one shoe -- my go-to shoe -- for those top notch matches in which I know I will be running a lot.Characteristics: lighweight; well-cushioned but a responsive feel; a bit more narrow than most.If you're a runner than needs a neutral shoe, i.e., does not overpronate, then this is an excellent option for you.

I like the funky colors
It's actually a really nice shoe. I was somewhat surprised at how comfortable they were right out of the box. On the first day, I ran three miles in them and didn't have any of the usual adjustment problem. No blisters or tendonitis, the break in period went without a hitch. It was like running on a cloud and I'm a big guy, 6'3", 215, so that's pretty impressive. I bought these shoes for a specific purpose, the duathlon nationals in Tucson. Check back in October and we'll know how they fared on a long course, but my initial assessment is totally positive. Not my favorite shoe, that's the Mizuno Wave Enigma, but they are a close second. I would definitely buy a second pair.

Great value for money - 4:00 min/km runner
I saw this trainer in a web review in Spain, and where the 2nd best "mixed" in 2011. This is the new 2012 model. I don't know how to say it in english, but "mixed" means that they are recommended for series (or quick trainings) or for competition, at a 4-4:20 min/km pace. I weight 70 kg, but you can use them if you are lighter or even heavier (not much more than me). They are very light, too. In 9.5 UK, 294 gr. For that weight, they are incredibly cushioned. I have no used them in a competition yet, but in trainings, they are very fast... All of this with a very cheap price (52 pounds, 65 when i bought them).
