Avenger 90 Degree Chrome Baby Pin Wall Mounting Plate with a 5/8" Spigot

Excellent item. Very robust. Mounting 500 LED light arrays in my studio with no problem. Tried several other mounts buy they wouldn't hold. This thing is SOLID and will let you mount pretty much any camera gear or light you want.

How odd. It is slightly larger than standard. I had to use an angle grinder on the head to make it work.

I needed a wall mount with baby pin that faces straight down towards the floor. Since I’m attaching it to a narrow beam, the plate must be mounted in horizontal orientation. The Amazon description states “built in swivel pin for fine adjustment,” so figured there was a hex nut or screw that could be loosened, allowing adjustment of the pin downwards. Sadly, the Amazon description is incorrect. The angled pin is wedded to the plate and does not swivel or provide any sort of adjustment. If I were doing a wall installation, I could mount the plate vertically to get the angle I need. However, the beam I planned to mount it on is too narrow for vertical placement…I figured Amazon was at fault for the product description snafu but the Avenger website has the same error: “Unique to the Avenger line, this baby plate allows fixtures to be fine-tuned with the built in swiveling baby pin.”I own another Avenger wall plate fixture, the Avenger F810 3-Inch Baby Wall Plate with Swivel Pin. Oddly, the Amazon listing bears the same description as the F809: “built in swivel pin for fine adjustment.” Unlike the F809, the F810 pin actually swivels via a beefy t-handle and ball (great product by the way).Okay, I’m disappointed the F809 isn’t what it says it is, but I’m not returning it. Why? Like my other Avenger and Manfrotto gear, it’s built like an Italian tank and I’ll eventually put it to good use. As is, it’s the best coat hanger ever! I tested the pin with a Linco Flora Light bank, Neewer wired softbox and Manfrotto Super Clamp, and the pin slid in and locked tight, albeit t's a little more snug than other baby pins.All in a well made baby pin wall plate with a grossly incorrect description. Now I’ll have to pony up for the more pricy F810 3-Inch Baby Wall Plate with Swivel Pin.

It is exactly what is says it is. It doesn't come with screws so you'll have to get those if you need them, and you won't be able to move it around, but otherwise it's well built and will do what you need it to do.

I bought five Avenger F809 Wall Plates to mount Paul C. Buff Einstein strobes in two gymnasiums. These are well designed wall brackets of the highest quality. They were just what I was looking for. I wasn't disappointed, you won't be either!

Its bigger than in the picture very sturdy and stable no problems with larger lights
