Perfect for Deep Black Macarons!
I got this black powder food coloring specifically to make black macarons, and it worked great! With this and a few other macaron tips (like using dark cocoa powder and resting them well), they came out as dark and rich as I hoped — no dull grayish color. The powder blends easily without throwing off the texture, which is super important for delicate baking like macarons. Definitely recommend if you’re going for a true black tone in baked goods!

it went over great and didn't stain
Big tip: it will look purple when you mix it. let it sit over night. it darkens up. I used this for tires on my twin's lightening mcqueen cake. it went over great and didn't stain.

Awful
I read that powdered black coloring was so wonderful. It was terrible. I let it set overnight and it was still light grey. I will stick to liquid. I used the whole container for a very small amount of icing and still light grey. Don’t waste your money. Buy liquid.

Easy black color.
I've always had problems getting the right black for my icings. This totally solved the problem and is very easy to use. I think it is much better than gel colors for black. I have not found any taste at all.

Just ok
Used to make a black icing for a birthday cake. Ended up using gel food coloring along with it because it didn’t get dark enough. Not sure I’ll buy again
